A car driven by a senior citizen crashed into the door of an apartment building and into an SUV parked in the yard

The first day of May in Kėdainiai was marked by a painful traffic incident – a passenger car driven by an elderly man, according to preliminary data, lost control in the courtyard of an apartment building after the driver’s health deteriorated. The car jumped onto the sidewalk, crashed into the door of the apartment building, and after bouncing off it, it also ran into the back of the SUV parked in the yard.

An eyewitness reported the incident

After 15:00, the General Assistance Center received a report that a passenger car crashed into an SUV in Kėdainiai, in the courtyard of apartment buildings, at the 26th house of Žemaitė Street. The reporter informed that the impact was strong, the driver did not get out of the vehicle.

The first and second departments of the Kėdainiai fire rescue service, emergency medical personnel and police officers were sent to the scene.

Doctors, officers and rescuers calmed the person down and put him on a stretcher. This one was loaded into an ambulance.

Due to suspected health problems, the doctors immediately transported the 89-year-old man to the Emergency Department of Kėdainiai Hospital.
