On May 2, the meeting of the Šiauliai City Council took place, as usual, it started with the singing of the national anthem of the Republic of Lithuania, this time it was performed in the Council meeting hall by the vocal trio of Šiauliai Stasios Šalkauskis Gymnasium, the singers were trained by music teacher Vaiva Malinauskaitė, who was awarded the Year of the Year by Šiauliai City Municipality last year teacher’s award.
Meritorious doctors are awarded
Doctors of the Republic of Šiauliai Hospital working in the Woman and Child Clinic were invited to the meeting hall of the Šiauliai City Municipality Council: Dobilas Ovsiukas, a pediatric intensive care physician, anesthesiologist, reanimatologist, and Zita Ancienė, a general practice nurse working in the Children’s Consultation Department.
The work of these doctors of the Republic of Šiauliai Hospital has been honored by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, and just a few days ago they were awarded the “Merits of Lithuanian Doctors Award”.
“On April 27, we celebrated Medical Workers’ Day in Lithuania. And on April 30, two doctors from the Republic of Šiauliai Hospital were recognized by presenting them with the Meritorious Lithuanian Doctor Award. We are glad that such wonderful specialists work in Šiauliai and we congratulate them on behalf of the whole city”, Mayor Artūras Visockas was happy while presenting symbolic gifts to Z. Ancienne and D. Ovsiuk.
Dobilas Ovsiukas, pediatric intensive care physician, anesthesiologist, resuscitator, has been working at the Republic Šiauliai Hospital for 34 years. The doctor is highly valued by colleagues and patients. D. Ovsiukas has dedicated his professional life to children – he has been working at the Children’s Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Center in the Intensive Care Unit since the beginning of the center’s establishment.
General practice nurse Zita Ancienė, who works in the Children’s Consultation Department of the Women’s and Child Clinic of the Republic of Šiauliai Hospital, is a long-time, highly valued and respected employee of the institution. Her current colleagues love her, former team members also mention Z. Ancienė with good words, and the parents of young patients do not spare compliments for her work. The woman has been working with pediatric pulmonologists and pediatric allergists in the consultation department since 1992.
Two members of the Council were congratulated on their beautiful anniversaries
Honorary citizen of Šiauliai Violeta Laugalienė on April 16. celebrated its 65th anniversary.
Šiauliai city council member Irina Barabanova celebrated her 60th anniversary on April 7.
