A Sunday of prayer is announced before the elections of the President of the Republic of Lithuania

May 12 of this year. The first round of the presidential elections of the Republic of Lithuania will take place in Lithuania.

The initiative group of the prayer campaign “For the Homeland Lithuania and elected government” invites all believers to focus on prayer and from May 3. to pray novena (on Sunday) to St. Heart of Jesus for the Motherland Lithuania and the elected President.

NOVENA (Saturday) PRAYER

In the name of God – the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord, send forth your Spirit, and all things shall be created, and renew the face of the earth.

Lord Jesus Christ, we thank you for your innumerable graces,

for the Motherland Lithuania and its freedom,

for stopping evil with the power of your merciful love

and enlightens people’s minds and hearts to choose good.

Trusting in Your infinite mercy, we entrust to Your Most Sacred Heart

our Motherland Lithuania in this period of trials and threats.

We humbly ask you to grant us the grace of the people of Lithuania,

choose the President according to your heart,

who would rule wisely, would honestly serve the common good of the people of Lithuania,

would respect natural human rights, ensure freedom of belief, conscience and speech,

would protect our country from devastating social and ideological experiments and external threats.

Jesus, let us trust in You. You are our Lord and our hope.
