The most deserving and patients’ beloved Lithuanian doctors are honored, 5 medical institutions – an exclusive gift from lrytas.lt

The awards are traditionally given on the occasion of Lithuanian Medical Workers’ Day. However, just like last year, the ceremony took place between two significant dates for the medical community – Lithuanian Medical Workers’ Day and International Nurses’ Day.

The news portal was awarded for the second year in a row lrytas.lt awards to the most beloved doctors, who received the most thanks on the “Thank you doctors” platform. Society actively responded to lrytas.lt’s invitation to thank medical workers.

The Minister of Health Arūnas Dulkys awarded special medals of honor to more than 70 doctors, nurses and health care workers of the country.

This year, more than a thousand thanks came from all over Lithuania: for creating a miracle on the operating table, for a joke that dispelled fear, or for infinite patience and concern for health. More than 800 medical workers of the country were thanked, and the most beloved patients and colleagues gave their support by distributing 11 thousand. support votes.

Throughout the project, a lot of attention was paid to strengthening the authority of medical workers, promoting a culture of verbal and not material thanks to doctors. In prepared interviews and reports, specialists talked about the daily work, professional challenges and the chosen path.

The five awarded specialists received the greatest support: Jolanta Šliaužienė, general practice nurse of “Lazdijas health center”, Daiva Žalgevičienė, nurse administrator of Šilutė PSPC, Vida Milda Klimienė, family doctor of Kazlų Rūda PSPC, Rita Stasevičienė, neurologist of Utena Hospital, and Danguolė Vildaitė, obstetrician-gynecologist of Vilnius Republican University Hospital.

He presented awards to doctors together with Minister A.Dulkius lrytas.lt editor and director Tautvydas Mikalajūnas and business development manager Greta Ališauskaitė-Bagušauskienė.

“Medics perform a particularly important and responsible mission. It is not always possible to thank the specialist who helped at the moment when help was most needed. We are happy to be able to contribute to the opportunity to draw attention, thank the medical staff, appreciate their efforts and at the same time remind them how important their contribution is in the fight for every person”, said T. Mikalajūnas, congratulating the doctors.

Throughout the history of the awards, along with this year’s nominees, 374 doctors, 137 nurses and 420 healthcare workers have been awarded the honorable names of Meritorious Lithuanian Doctors.
