While visiting the permanent exhibition spaces and the premises of the cafe and restaurant, we will get to know the preserved and restored signs of Renaissance architecture in the Palace of the Lords. Relics of the palace’s architecture testify to the combination of Gothic and Renaissance, several stages of development of the Renaissance palace in the 16th century. In the dungeons, it will be possible to see the surviving walls of the Renaissance residence, the cellars of the Žygimantas Old Palace and the Bona Sforza tower, water supply, drainage and sewerage facilities, and fragments of the kitchen from the time of Žygimantas Augustus. In the expositions on the first floor of the Museum of the Palace of the Lords, we will admire Renaissance architectural details made of stone, authentic Renaissance floors and other relics, as well as the world’s largest collection of cobblestones, and we will also pay attention to the signs and plots recorded in the cobblestones. In the exhibition of restored interiors of the palace, it will be possible to get acquainted with restored Renaissance art decor, sources of restoration and compositions of movable assets (furniture, tapestries, paintings) characteristic of Renaissance interiors.

The excursion is an event of the “European signs in Lithuania: Renaissance” program of the Lithuanian museum road.
