The Public Health Office of the Šiauliai City Municipality (VSB) organizes a training series for young families who are pregnant, planning or have just had a baby, which is called “Hello, baby!”. Asta Ivoškienė, the representative of the office, who heads this project, while presenting the training cycle at the press conference, emphasized that the classes will take place in May and early June and will be repeated in the fall. Training is free.

A. Ivoškienė said that the training will cover preparation for childbirth – both psychological and domestic. Specialists will explain how to prepare for childbirth, what items to bring to the hospital, etc. There will be a lecture about the psychological state of both the mother and all family members, how the relationships of each family member change. Children’s diseases, vaccinations, how to prepare for breastfeeding, how to deal with its challenges will be reviewed. Mutual aid group activities are planned.

The training started already in April and received very good feedback. The schedule of classes for the month of May can be found on the calendar of the website of the office, on the Facebook account. You can also register there. Since the organizers of the project cooperate with the Republic Hospital of Šiauliai, this institution appoints lecturers and interesting speakers.

The project has more partners who provide gifts to the training participants. Mothers receive a “Pregnancy Calendar”.

According to the VSB representative, most of the trainings are face-to-face, but one on more intimate topics will take place remotely.

Mindful absorption stress management group will begin on May 2nd.

“We invite young families to hear a professional’s word, to ask their questions”, urged A. Ivoškienė.
