The aim of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) is to create more well-paid jobs for the country’s residents, therefore it is constantly looking for opportunities to improve business conditions so that both Lithuanian entrepreneurs and foreign investors want to create and develop in the country.

“We are already noticing the results of the activities – the wages of international companies attracted to Lithuania are 51 percent. higher than the national average, and together with attracted investors, more than 4,000 jobs will be created. new well-paid jobs. Opening opportunities for the defense industry

Efforts are being made to strengthen the country’s defense and security industry sector by paving the way for the production of military equipment. For this purpose, the restriction on business activities in the field of defense in the free economic zones (LEZ) in Lithuania was abolished. This will encourage businesses to expand their activities and create good new jobs.

“We also initiated changes to the laws relevant to the Lithuanian defense and security industry, with which we propose to abandon excessive requirements for the development of this sector and, by facilitating the conditions for the production of armaments, open the possibility for Lithuania to produce the products necessary for European defense itself. In this way, we ensure not only the security of Lithuania and the supply of support to Ukraine, but also improve business conditions and the development of companies”, says the Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation E. Kurochkina.

These initiatives ensure close cooperation with Lithuanian and foreign entrepreneurs, developing and creating more promising opportunities for Lithuanian residents, including better wages and creating new jobs that stimulate the growth of the entire country’s economy.

Also this year, the Seimas adopted changes to laws initiated by EIMIN, which create more favorable conditions for the development of large projects. These changes will ensure the immediate security and defense needs of the state are met.

Attracted companies create jobs

EIMIN consistently works to create good business conditions to attract investors. Last year, we managed to attract as many as 53 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, which will create more than 4,100 jobs in our country within three years. 25 new international companies are entering Lithuania, and 28 companies already operating in the country will carry out expansion. Two groups of food products have exceptions: bread, cake products, margarine are allowed to be sold no longer than 2 days, and certain products of animal origin – no longer than 10 days after the end of the “Best before…” period.

The burden on those engaged in individual activities is reduced

This year, the account of a small entrepreneur is launched – automated financial management, which will reduce the burden of tax calculation for those engaged in individual activities.

Until now, a large number of individuals engaged in individual activities face difficulties in calculating the taxes to be paid and submitting declarations. In addition, it takes a lot of time – one self-employed person spent about 18 hours a year on financial accounting.
