Not all planned projects have been implemented – synchronization with Western networks is still planned, the Visaginas nuclear power plant project has shut down, we are still significantly dependent on electricity imports, and the construction of the important HarmonyLink electric cable is moving into the future.

Not to mention, even in completed projects, not everything goes smoothly – 15 minutes already wrote that Russian parts may have been illegally used in the gas connection between Lithuania and Poland (GIPL).

So what is the picture of Lithuanian energy in the last 20 years? We reviewed the most significant energy steps we have taken or planned to take in the last 20 years.
