Manager of a luxury hotel – about Hollywood stars: “Nobody knows they were in Lithuania”

--

The historical walls of the Pacai Palace preserve the secret stories of celebrities, fragments of which are shared by Rūta Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė, the general director of the Pacai hotel.

In the latest episode of Aurim Kamantauskas’ podcast “Kamantinėmai”, the manager of a five-star hotel talks about celebrities who hide their identities, Hollywood stars and world-renowned artists who increasingly find rest and peace in the Baltic countries.

“Celebrities stay under different names, come covered in hoodies, without make-up. To tell the truth, I don’t recognize some of them either: when they arrive at the hotel, famous people look completely different from what we’re used to seeing,” – in the “Kamantinėjimi. About the creators and actors”, R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė tells A. Kamantauskas, the head of the event services group “ReKūrai” while talking to the director.

In cases where the guests want to keep quiet about their visit, the staff of the Pacai Hotel guarantees absolute confidentiality – even the spouse of the guest would not be able to find out who was currently staying at the hotel.

“Everything happens in the hotel, but of course we keep those stories quiet. I really had to see and experience a lot, but everything stays behind these walls – the stories do not go public in any way, because we do not tell them even to our relatives”, R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė assures.

It is true that not all celebrities wear the “publicity shield” – some celebrities themselves do not hide that they live in the hotel, take photos in public or otherwise share the moments spent in the hotel. R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė tells about the latter in A. Kamantauska’s webcast “Kamantinėmai”, mentioning several names of notable guests.

From celery to kisielius – every wish will be fulfilled

The manager of a luxury hotel does not hide that the most demanding guests are rock stars.

“From squeezing celery juice and leaving it at the door at 9 o’clock in the morning to asking to organize a hair transplant operation, the requests are varied and not necessarily from very famous guests. For example, one guest who was working on a shoot and got very cold had a request to find a warm cranberry jelly every night when she returned to her room. We didn’t have such a product, so we cooked cranberry jelly specially for her,” says R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė.

The group “Rammstein”, which organized a stormy concert in Lithuania last summer, also stayed in the apartments of the hotel “Pacai”. Imagine Dragons vocalist Dan Reynolds, artist Marina Abramović, Queen Margarita II of Denmark and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were guests here.

“Marina Abramovič, who visited us not so long ago, signed up for a spa treatment, where our therapist massaged her so well, enchanted her – I don’t know what she did, but Marina left the procedure without her wand, she completely forgot about it. When she came to the reception, she said that the massage was so good that she forgot her room number,” R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė laughed, remembering her acquaintance with the famous artist on the show “Kamantinėmai”.

Private star breakfast

During the conversation with A. Kamantauskas, the author of the show “Kamantinėmai”, R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė testified that she noticed a clear trend. Although the hotel is home to very different personalities – from stage legends to top-level diplomats – all of them usually choose to eat breakfast only in their hotel room.

“Usually officials of this level and bigger stars avoid publicity, but we are already used to it – no problem to organize breakfast in the room,” smiled the general director of the Pacai Hotel.

Having the opportunity to accommodate another celebrity in her hotel, R. Pulkauninkaitė-Macikė is firmly convinced that she will invite US President Joe Biden as a guest. According to her, diplomats are modest, simple and completely undemanding residents of the hotel.
