“This is a visual campaign, the main goal of which is to show the kind of Lithuania we have today, that is, how we look now, what wealth we have created during the period of being in the EU, without looking back to the past, but focusing on the present,” the Central Project Management Agency, which is conducting the procurement, told BNS representative Aušra Pocienė.

As indicated in the procurement documents, such a decision was made because other institutions – the European Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense – will carry out intensive communication and activities about this anniversary, and most of the activities will be focused on the past and history.

According to A. Pocienė, the campaign aims to remind people of the importance and opportunities Lithuania’s membership in the Community has provided.

“This campaign must reflect the result of Lithuania’s 20-year presence in the EU. Among the content topics that are important to reveal are: innovation and entrepreneurship, the energy sector, regional policy and other priority areas,” the procurement documents state.

The communication campaign for the 20th anniversary of Lithuania’s EU membership should cost about 170 thousand. euros.

It is planned that the campaign should start no later than July. It is planned that the campaign itself must be implemented within four months from the date of signing the contract with the supplier.

Lithuania became an EU member on May 1, 2004.
