In the workshop, where, as Aurimas himself says, he has been tinkering in the evenings after work or on weekends for three years, work is being done with CNC milling machines, which allow to achieve such precision that would be difficult to achieve by hand. The man had been dreaming about this equipment for some time.

“Like my dad, I’m a bit into art. I have always been interested in construction and wood, and I have long dreamed of milling CNC machines. I kept thinking how much I would do if I had such equipment”, Aurimas recalled his dreams.

When the opportunity arose to come up with an idea and receive European Union support for business, Aurimis did not have to think long, he had to look for the most important thing – determination.

The man realized that he had everything he needed – a place to set up a factory, the desire, and the abilities were not lacking. So finally, after setting up a workshop, the man from Suvalki bought the necessary equipment and took the bull by the horns.

This is a common solution in furniture factories

It turns out that the price of such equipment reaches several tens, and sometimes several hundreds of thousands of euros. Suvalkietis is engaged in the production of individual orders, but notices that milling machines are extremely popular in larger factories, for example, among furniture makers who engage in serial production.

However, the aforementioned investments pay off in the long run, because the possibilities, as the Suvalki resident himself says, are limitless. And after preparing a suitable drawing, the rest of the work is already taken over by the machine.

“It is not the production that takes the most time, but the creation of the drawing on the computer – after a good drawing, some products, especially smaller ones, can be cut by the machine in 15 minutes.

There are 6 cutters and each one cuts at a different depth and thickness – you choose according to what each one does and see what kind of image you get. One rounds the edges of the product to make them softer, the other forms the relief – each runs over the surface and moves according to the pattern in the drawing,” Aurimas described the process.

Also reproduces the image of a person

In Kudirka’s workshop in Naumiestis, most of the works are made of wood. Aurimis likes to work with oak or ash the most – it is said that the surface of such products is the easiest to smooth, there are no bristles on it, unlike when making it from pine. Sometimes they also use plywood, aluminum composite or plastic.

“We make what people need. We started with Christmas toys, because when the project started, it was November. A lot of people want to give wooden tables for birthdays – especially if a person likes to grill meat, we get a photo and I make an image of that person’s face on the tree.

The machine has been tapping such a drawing for several hours, until you draw the drawing, you need another couple of hours. Using various programs, the photo is converted from colors and shadows to vectors. You play, you try, you see if you got it right – change something until you see that the image is not bad. I recently sent just such a variant to America,” Aurimas named the incoming orders

Suvalkietis laughs that he doesn’t even make such curiosities for himself as he sends to customers. And those people who turn to him are usually looking for something that they can’t find in the store, so they don’t calculate the prices.

Decorated the capital’s mayor’s sauna

It is true that there is no need to look abroad, because in Lithuania the works of the Suvalki native have reached the hands of Valdos Adamkaus or Gitanas Nausėdas.

And the sauna of the capital’s mayor, Valdas Benkunskas, is decorated by none other than a sign made by Aurim announcing that it is “Valda’s sauna”. The last order was made for a birthday.

When asked how he expands the brand name’s awareness, the man answers modestly.

“For now, we don’t appear on the screen ourselves, people hear about us mostly through word of mouth. As many orders as there are are enough. We’re even afraid that it wouldn’t be too much – it’s better to do less, but always do it on time or even earlier than you promised,” said Aurimas.

The man does not hide that he has broader creative ambitions, so he dreams of buying a laser in the future.
