She and several other famous mothers – opinion maker Indrė Stonkuvienė, singer Violeta Tarasovienė, mother of 20 children Eglė Vaitkevičienė, host of events Laura Smolskė – took part in the LNK TV show “KK2 Friday” and talked about the mental health of young people. The show will be shown already this Friday, April 26, and during it, funds will be collected to support the activities of the Youth Line, an organization that cares for the mental health of teenagers and young people.

Birutė Jakučionytė is intimately familiar with the problems of teenagers, not only because she is raising 4 sons alone, but she herself is active in the social network “Tik tok”, where her content is intended specifically for teenagers.

“Before coming to the show, I collected information from my followers about the biggest problems of young people, and I found out that the biggest problems are cutting, suicide, and drug use. Young people share with me that in the province of Lithuania, many teenagers “use” – that is, harbor narcotic substances – the teachers know about it, they guess who distributes it and who uses it, but they don’t do anything about it. Teenagers experience a lot of stress – unrequited love, pressure from studies, so they can’t deal with their emotions and start using,” says Birutė, whose account on the Tik Tok social network has been liked by 731 thousand people.

Birutė notices that there is also a large background of bullying in Lithuanian schools – she notices this from communication with her followers and the camps she has been organizing for teenagers for many years.

“In the camps, I notice that when there are 30 children – some living abroad, others in Lithuania – it is normal for Lithuanians to say something offensive or make fun of them. We need to work with these children for several days in order to convince them that we will not talk like that in the camp”, B. Jakučionytė shared her experience on the program “KK2 penktadienis”.

“That’s why I’m “Just like that” because our children are there. That’s why I organize the camps, because I feel an obligation to make an effort for our children, for their self-esteem. Because it seems to me that the whole system is designed in such a way that it will only be worse for the children,” Birutė Jakučionytė said emotionally.

Already this Friday, the program “KK2 Friday” will be shown with a noble mission – to help “Jaunimo linija”, which listens to young people 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, at critical moments in their lives. During the show, it will be possible to donate with short numbers: 1890 – 5 eur; 1413 – 10 euros.
