Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Andriys Kovaliov said that for him victory in this war would only be the collapse of the Russian Federation. According to him, the war must be transferred to the territory of the enemy.

“The war must, under all circumstances, be transferred to the territory of the enemy. And even after Russia’s collapse begins, there are several factors that will still threaten national security. For example, a civil war or several civil conflicts may break out on the territory of the Russian Federation. It will happen very close to Ukraine, so it could pose a threat to us. We have to think about ways to protect ourselves,” he said in an interview with ArmyInform.

The official added that as the Russian Federation collapses, as it “picks at its seams, Ukraine could be covered in that debris.” He also added that Ukraine should expect a migration crisis during the collapse of Russia.

“Many of those people will “remember” that they are “Ukrainians” and will want to return to Ukraine. Therefore, measures must be introduced to prevent these persons from entering the territory of our country. During one conference in one of the Baltic countries, we were presented with a plan for how this country will act in the conditions of the collapse of the Russian Federation. “Estonia, Finland, the United States are already thinking about scenarios of the collapse of the Russian Federation, they have such strategic planning, they know how they should react to it, because they have a very high-level national security issue,” the military officer explained.

However, according to Kovalev, he does not see any movement towards the collapse of the Russian Federation so far. “Russia has been fighting against us for 10 years, but for most Ukrainians, the Russian Federation is terra incognita, they don’t know what it is. But there is a big difference between Moscow and Russia. And Moscow is far from the whole of Russia,” he added.

He also commented on possible national liberation movements in Russia. The officer noted that he was skeptical about them.

If they existed, they would have already achieved something: they would have cleaned out the Putin regime and so on. Therefore, I believe that Russia’s downfall will be led by Putin’s elite. Yes, the same elite that is in power now. And as soon as Russia begins to fall apart, he will be at the top of this collapse,” the soldier emphasized.

He recalled how at one point the collapse of the Soviet Union was led by the local communist elite. “Remember how Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia were talked about in the USSR? “Here is our foreign country.” Since the Soviets did not feel safe there, they went to these countries as if on an excursion – the Baltic peoples were able to emphasize that they are different and that they are occupied. Ukrainians, unfortunately, did not manage to achieve this, we were hit by the roller coaster of genocides, repressions and destruction. Ukraine is now closer than ever to Russia catching fire and falling apart. But not only Ukraine has to work here”– said Kovaliov.

The military man reminded that the USSR collapsed when the US political elite made such a decision. Republicans under President Ronald Reagan also “effectively destroyed the USSR by starting this process,” he said. He noted that now the American elite does not understand that the Russian Federation needs to be destroyed.

“Only when there is a political consensus on the collapse of the Russian Empire will it begin to crumble. And this process will be led by Putin’s local elite. Then everyone will start saying that “since childhood I am for independent Tatarstan, Bashkiria, the independent Republic of Tuva,” the officer summed up.
