“The Lithuanian Nation, having adopted the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania after regaining its independence more than 30 years ago, jointly decided that from now on the verification of the legality of decisions made by the legislative and executive state authorities will be entrusted to a new constitutional control institution that did not exist in the Lithuanian legal system until then – the Constitutional Court .

Established in 1993, the Constitutional Court soon found its place in the life of the state and society, won authority among state authorities and contributed to many changes in the legal system that strengthened the young democratic legal state.

During the 30 years of activity of the Constitutional Court, the official constitutional doctrine formed by it developed, changed and responded to changes in the state and society. However, the mission and purpose of the Constitutional Court has never changed and cannot change – to enforce constitutional justice, to ensure the supremacy of the Constitution and the protection of the values ​​enshrined in it, to remove legal acts that contradict the Constitution from the legal system”, said the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania, Gintaras Godas, in his congratulatory speech to the Constitutional Court on 30- for the compilers and authors of the publication for the year.

Constitutional judicial control is the main instrument ensuring the effectiveness of the Constitution. in 1993 established, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania has successfully carried out this mission for three decades, found its place in the life of the state and society, won authority among state authorities and contributed to many changes in the legal system.

The book reviews three decades of activity of the Constitutional Court, analyzes the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court, its influence on various branches of law and institutes, the relationship of the Constitutional Court with other national and international courts, subtleties of interpretation of the Constitution, certain powers of the Constitutional Court or other elements of the legal status of this institution.
