Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the Canadian-US equity firm that owns the fast-food restaurant brands Burger King, Popey?s Louisiana Kitchen and Tim Hortons, reported an increase in net profit in the January-March period compared to the same period last year 18% to 328 million USD.

Adjusted earnings per share came in at $0.73, narrowly beating the $0.72 average of analysts polled by FactSet, the company said in a statement.

RBI’s sales revenue rose 9% to 1.74 billion. USD and also exceeded the expectations of experts ($1.7 billion).

Burger King restaurants increased revenue by 3.8%, Tim Hortons by 6.9%, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen by 5.7%, and Firehouse Subs by 0.3%.

Adjusted revenues in the three months of this year were 4.6% more solid than a year ago.

RBI operates one of the largest fast food restaurant chains in the world, with more than 30,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries. The company was formed in 2014 after the merger of the US Burger King and the Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons. in 2017 the company acquired the US chicken restaurant chain Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
