The life of Aleksandr Rybak, who disappeared from the public eye: fame and addiction that darkened his life

Having represented Norway in Eurovision in 2009 and having scored a record number of points, the then 23-year-old Aleksandras Rybakas did not rest on his laurels after the contest. And his life revolved around music until the competition.

Aleksandras Igorevičius Rybak (Norwegian: Alexander Rybak) was born in 1986. May 13 in Minsk. The man was born in a family of musicians, his path was also connected with music.

His father – Igor Aleksandrovičius Rybakas (b. 1954), is a violinist, worked in the Vitebsk Music Ensemble and the Minsk Chamber Orchestra. Mother – Natalija Valentinovna Rybak (b. 1959), a pianist, worked in the editorial office of music programs on Belarusian television.

Not only his wonderful voice and wonderful playing captivated the jury members and viewers of various countries. In addition to high musical skills, Aleksandras Rybakas also has an attractive appearance. Many speculated that he won because of his “beautiful eyes”.

A few years ago, Rybak admitted that he had used sleeping pills and antidepressants for many years. When they started to destroy his life, he realized that he had to fight it. And in 2020, he started rehabilitation.

“It affected not only my brain, but also my muscles, my stomach and my overall body condition.

This addiction ruined my relationships with people, but most importantly, it almost broke my will to live,” the singer said in an interview.

He also said that he had a childhood trauma that damaged his abdomen and affected his nervous system. After participating in Eurovision, the situation worsened.
