54-year-old Chen Gen An was arrested in 2022. Then he brutally beat his wife and stabbed her.
The woman managed to call for help through her smart watch, but the man still tied her up, covered her mouth with adhesive tape, threw her into the car and took her to the forest. There he buried his wife in a shallow pit and drove away. Although the woman spent 12 hours underground, she survived and even managed to dig her way to the surface.
In March, Č.G.Anna pleaded guilty to attempted murder. The man’s lawyer said his client suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and was taking an overdose of medication, which allegedly affected his behavior. The accused himself testified that every day he wakes up he regrets what he did.
The victim stated in court that she and her children still live in fear. The woman emphasized that the man traumatized her not only physically, but also mentally, which will have a negative impact for the rest of her life.
At the end of April, the court sentenced the unruly spouse to 13 years in prison and forbade him to communicate with his wife and children.
