The purpose of the project to amend the Public Procurement Act, which is being considered in the Parliament, is to prevent those who indirectly support Russia’s war in Ukraine from participating in public procurement. Until now, the idea remains unfulfilled that the products of such a company, which is in our corner, should be taken accordingly, the merchants do not want (do not want) to inform the buyer that there is a military product on the shelves. Not only that, some of these companies in Lithuania are even crowned with honorable titles.

About 20 parliamentarians from the government and the opposition supported the proposed amendments to the Buy-A-Buy Act. it is proposed to attract residents and businesses if they operate in Russia or Belarus, pay taxes there, contribute to propaganda or mobilization campaigns or otherwise encourage Russian military actions.

sra must be drawn up and approved by the Government.

According to the author of the draft amendment, by paying taxes in Russia, businessmen indirectly contribute to the development of the aggressor’s military capabilities, its propaganda or mobilization campaign, otherwise they indirectly promote Russia’s military capabilities and thus pose a threat to the national security of both Lithuania and its partner.

It seems to be very fashionable in the world to loudly resent the war caused by Russia. And he will close his eyes. There are several factories operating in Lithuania whose shareholder decided to stay in Russia because he makes good money there. The employees of some company protested for a long time, demanding that the shareholder withdraw from the oil aggressor. But there was no reaction in time, everything calmed down and the old course is swimming. mons produces, sells, buyers buy.

At the end of April, the parliamentarians will invite the Lithuanian trade networks to take the goods of the company, which is still supporting Russia’s military aggression, by supplying their products to the oil market. This is the second attempt to appeal to merchant morality. Last year, after several Scandinavian organizations announced a boycott of some companies that supply their goods to Russia, the conservatives also appealed to the large retail chains operating in Lithuania to take over the company’s products exported to Russia, but the business did not support the initiative then.

Then part of the trade network says that they are afraid of the legal consequences of such an undertaking, while others hope for the government’s help in accurately identifying the manufacturers of goods still associated with Russia.

A public opinion survey conducted by the Vilmorus company last July at the request of BNS showed that almost half of the Lithuanian population would like to see goods sold in shopping centers whose manufacturers do not stop operating in Russia.

The president also joined the initiative of the parliamentarian in August last year: Vaidas Augustinaviius, the adviser of the president Gitanas Nausda, asked to put all the tracks on i: he thinks that a registry of businesses operating in the aggressor states could be created.

The idea itself is definitely on the right track, because it is very important to tell the people of Lithuania whether the products they buy do not contribute to feeding the aggression regime with tax money, the president’s adviser told the radio.

Retail chains have to receive the supply list according to the authorities to keep the relevant goods on the store shelves. Then it is a great and useful idea, apparently, and it will work, said V. Augustinaviius.

V reminds: the US food manufacturer Mondelez was boycotted in the Scandinavian countries because of its business in Russia, because it has its commercial activities in Russia: the company’s products are sold in stores with special information, and the state mons refuse to order. The manufacturer owns the well-known brands Milka, Kraft Trident, Cote Odor, Toblerone, Halls, etc.

In Norway, Finland and Sweden, some trade networks, airlines and even municipalities refused to sell their products last year. Companies such as SAS and Norwegian Air, the SJ cruise line group, the online chain Strawberry, the parent store chain Elkjop, Fjord Line and the Norwegian Football Association have announced the discontinuation of Mondelez products.

Mondelez produces okolad in Lithuania, Karna, Manija, other products of Mondelez are sold in all retail chains, but, in addition to Mondelez, in Russia there are still such companies as PepsiCo, Danone, Nestle, Mars, Procter & Gamble, LOreal, Gorenje, Bonduelle and many others. other

As already mentioned, the merchants did not support the initiative of the parliamentarian to follow the Scandinavian example. Therefore, there is no such thing as a corresponding product.

The mameninci seem to have a trump card because they demand sra. Supposedly, they themselves are at war sponsors no, they did not see the list of military forces formed by Ukraine. Therefore, it is very easy to check with Ukrainians. You don’t see when you don’t want to see. So Vii, Bonduelle, Mondelez continue to reign on store shelves.

Not only that, the association uniting investors in the Lithuanian economy Investors Forum in 2023. awarded the title of investor to Mars Lithuania. It is a pair of Mars, which together with Nestle in Russia has over 70% share of the sector. And every April, we need volunteers to commit to applying up to 30% discounts to the partners of our retail chains for a certain range of products and services.

International concerns that are still working in Russia continue to be actively represented in various Lithuanian business associations, confederations, companies.

It was not heard that any of the business organizations were preparing to expel their members who continue to work with Russia and are not going to give it up. Although who knows who, and those organizations should know best whether a member liquidated the company in Russia or continues to work successfully there. I asked for crocodile aaras. And cheaper.

Finally, no matter what the shareholders or directors say, the status of the company can always be checked in the Russian legal entity register. That’s where you see that the shareholder’s odes do not coincide with the work. If he claims to leave the company to the will of fate and it is managed by local managers, the register shows that movements are taking place: shareholders merge or separate companies, change addresses, etc.

Unfortunately, so far the management of the associations and confederations has not heard an ultimatum for such members to leave on their own before being shown the door.

The heads of business associations know how to talk gracefully about aid to Ukraine, about the need to increase funding for Lithuanian defense. Unfortunately, when morals come into conflict with money, they place all moral attitudes on me.
