The group said in a statement that it “launched a sophisticated attack using explosive drones and guided missiles against the headquarters of the Manara military command and forces stationed there from the 51st Battalion of the Golan Brigade.”
Israel’s military said its Iron Dome air defense system “successfully intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon to the Manara area in northern Israel.”
The army also “struck the sources of fire of several anti-tank missiles fired from Lebanon into the Manara border area.”
Lebanon’s National News Agency later reported that an Israeli airstrike on a house in the village of Srebin injured 11 people, one of them seriously.
Earlier on Saturday, Israeli fighter jets “struck a Hezbollah military structure in the Kusa area of southern Lebanon,” the army said in a statement.
Since October 7, when Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel and sparked a war in the Gaza Strip, Israeli troops and Hezbollah fighters have been firing on each other on the border almost daily.
In two separate statements, Hezbollah reported the death of two fighters from the villages of Kafr Kila and Chiam.
It said they were “tortured on the way to Jerusalem,” a phrase the group uses to report the deaths of its members by Israeli fire, without specifying where or when they died.
During the night from Saturday to Sunday, Hezbollah said it fired dozens of rockets at the Meron military base in northern Israel.
The group said it was in retaliation for Israeli attacks on civilian homes in several areas of southern Lebanon, including Kafr Kil and Srebin.
The Israeli military said in a statement that its Iron Dome system had succeeded in intercepting rockets fired into northern Israel from Lebanon’s Manara region.
It added that they shelled the military infrastructure in the village of Srebin.
Hezbollah has stepped up rocket attacks on Israeli military bases since an attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1, widely blamed on Israel.
