In Belgium, a court acquitted a man with a blood alcohol level of over 100,000 because it turned out that his body produces alcohol on its own.

The man had no idea he had an extremely rare syndrome until he was stopped by a police patrol and told to blow into a breathalyzer. The man blew four times the legal limit and had to stand trial.

Only in court did medical experts reveal that the 40-year-old Belgian’s body functions as an alcohol factory. Carbohydrates obtained from food, such as pasta, bread or soft drinks, are converted into alcohol by the body itself, without the owner’s knowledge.

It is an extremely rare syndrome that only about 20 people worldwide have.

The entire LNK report is in the video:

Because the Belgian had no idea about such processes taking place in his body green understandingthe court acquitted him of drunk driving.

However, from now on, the man will have to follow a strict carbohydrate-restricting diet, because if he is caught behind the wheel again, when his blood alcohol level is too high, he will already be punished, because he will not be able to justify that he did not know that his body produces alcohol on its own.

The most interesting thing is that the man works in a brewery.
