In justifying the move, Mr Tusk said his government’s first months since taking office in December had focused on dismantling the structures created by the previous nationalist conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, and now it was time to clean up.

Tusk’s center-left coalition, led by his Citizens’ Platform, has been making major efforts to change since 2015. who ruled the PiS policy. Bartlomiejs Sienkiewicz, the retired Minister of Culture, reorganized the public media, which was considered the propaganda organ of PiS. B. Sienkiewicz and the other three ministers will organize the European Parliament election campaign, which is what prompted the reshuffle of the cabinet.

Hanna Wróblewska, former director of the National Art Gallery in Warsaw, has been appointed as the Minister of Culture. Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinskis was replaced by intelligence services coordinator Tomasz Simoniaks, who will now hold both positions. Jakub Jaworowski will be the new Minister of State Enterprises, replacing Borys Budkas. The ministries of culture, interior and state enterprises are headed by members of D. Tusko’s Citizens’ Platform. The fourth minister, Krzysztof Hetman, a member of the Christian-conservative party “Third Way”, will be replaced in the Ministry of Development and Technology by Krzysztof Paszyk, who until now headed the party’s faction in the parliament.

Four new ministers are to be sworn in by President Andrzej Duda on Monday. The European Parliament elections in the 27-member bloc will be held on June 6-9. Poland will vote on June 9.
