Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced changes in his cabinet on Friday, so that four former ministers can now participate in the European Parliament (EP) elections.

The reorganization of the government is also seen as an opportunity to infuse it with new energy. D. Tusk’s government, which started working in December, is carrying out thorough reforms in many areas, including justice and the media.

today it’s time to get organized and this is one of the reasons why we decided to make these changes, said D. Tuskas.

Minister of Culture Bartlomiejs Sienkiewicz, head of the change of management of the state television, radio and news agency, Minister of Internal Affairs Marcins Kierwinskis, Minister of State Property Borysas Budka and Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Hetmans are leaving their posts.

D. Tuskas said that although no one should think that the post is for an indefinite period, the ministers in question have fulfilled their tasks.

Tomasz Siemonika, appointed as the new Minister of Internal Affairs, will work in the position of Minister of Defense in the previous government of D. Tusk. He retains his role as a special services coordinator during Russia’s war on neighboring Ukraine.

Hanna Wroblewska became the Minister of Culture.

Jakub Jaworowski has been entrusted with the management of state assets at a time when many audits are being carried out, where D. Tusk called it an opportunity for Renaissance, and the new Minister of Development is Krzysztof Paszyk.

The president’s representative says that a ceremony is planned for Monday morning, during which the new ministers will be officially sworn in.

D. Tusk’s government will not go back to its previous decision. In 2015-2023, the government of the right-wing party Law and Justice (PiS) often clashed with the European Union (EU) due to its policies.

The cabinet was reshuffled a few hours before the planned large PiS protest in Varuva. PiS, which aims to win a seat in the European Parliament (EP) during the April 9 elections, joins the protests against the new EU countries’ political policies.
