This was reported by Ukrinform on Friday, citing the News Georgia portal.
“I don’t even know if anyone beat themselves or if someone else resorted to physical violence… Why do you claim that the violence was done by government supporters?” If anyone can organize such riots, it is, of course, those people who organize these rallies and powerful protest actions in the country,” said the Minister of Justice.
These days, it was reported that the ruling party “Sakartvel’s Dream” intends to create a database that will contain information about people “involved in violence, threats and blackmail”, as well as those who “publicly support such actions”.
The speaker of Sakartvelo parliament, Šalva Papuašvilis, stated that such a list is necessary for “universal moral condemnation”.
As already reported, at least four attacks were carried out in Tbilisi on Wednesday evening against activists opposed to the law on foreign agents, representatives of the opposition and members of their families.
On May 1, the Parliament of Sarkartvel approved the law “On transparency of foreign influence” in the second reading. 83 deputies voted for, 23 against. The country’s president, Salome Zurabishvili, previously promised to veto the document if it was passed in the third reading. But the ruling party “Sakartwell’s Dream” has enough votes to overcome the president’s veto. As a result, there are mass protests in the country.
