True, his recommendation was accompanied by one request – be good, just “don’t grind it into flour”, because I will still want to stop by for a meal.

Overview

One of the places he recommended was “ground into flour” a few years ago – then we had lunch together with him, and to this day, when he goes there, the waitresses remind him of my visit…

Although my brother recommended to try the daily lunch dishes of “Kurėne”, which are offered to guests here until 15:00, but while Katinienė was dressed up, we were a little late and arrived only after 17:00.

Men whose women can’t find anything to wear in their closet will understand me perfectly…

There were a few other tables with guests in the bar besides us, so I took the opportunity to take more photos to give you the interior views.

The menu selection is narrow, I would say that it is reminiscent of a restaurant rather than a bar. A few soups, a couple of salads, some snacks and a few main courses.

While I was trying to calm my gurgling stomach with table water, Katinienė fed the body with carotene with the help of carrot juice, which should improve the tan in Greece, where we are going next week.

After mentioning Greece, I will briefly announce that you will be waiting for a number of reports dedicated to the catering establishments of that country.

Menu selection

For appetizers, we ordered cold cuts and caesar salad. I rarely order a Caesar salad because, after years of testing it, I’ll be honest, it’s boring.

And I ordered them in this bar only because the salad selection included a vegetable salad with feta in addition to Caesar.

Caesar salad with chicken – EUR 8.00. And what do you think? And thanks to the salad I ate at this bar, I rediscovered my love for that painfully familiar Caesar salad.

100% completion. The anchovies in the sauce are not overdone, they seem to know how sensitive my taste buds are. The anchovies are noticeable, but they do not dominate or overshadow the other ingredients of the salad.

Chillies – 4.20 euros. Without reproach, Katiniene also ate štilbisbaršči. Unless, in her opinion, a large portion of cold cuts could be a reproach.

When they brought the main dishes, I felt like I was looking at the illustrations of a fairy tale book. A very interesting side dish for both dishes. Those gherkins are arranged like trees.

Normally, my criticism would be the duplicate pickles and tomatoes in the side dishes of both dishes, but on the other hand, beefstrogen is not served without pickles.

Beef Stroganoff – 10.00 EUR. The portion of befstrogen also appeared to be too large for Katiniene.

I don’t understand why you women don’t go a few sizes bigger when you buy dresses. The price is the same for both the smallest size and the largest.

You buy a dress a few sizes bigger and no nervous breakdowns at the table by restricting yourself when eating.

Since the portion of beefstrogen was large, I had the honor of tasting a few pieces of beef as well. Soft beef, plenty of thick sauce, fluffy mashed potatoes.

Steak

Baravykas steak – EUR 9.00. The person who created the recipe for this “Baravykas” steak was probably trying to recreate good childhood memories on the plate, because the image on the plate looks like it came from a magical forest.

The inside of the potato, which represents the stalk of boletus in the dish, is hollowed out, and boletus is stuck inside. The pork cap is topped with boletus sauce. Pickled vegetables went well with the fattier mushroom sauce.

Don’t even try to write in the comments where you can fit so much, because I will admit, as delicious as it was, I only managed one mushroom.

Molds with cottage cheese – 6.00 EUR. I ordered cast irons with cottage cheese only for the sake of my beloved haters, who will keep writing in the comments – where you can fit so much. I’m not a picky Cat, but those casts with cottage cheese were worth the sin.

Even Katinienė, forgetting her diet and wearing a dress that was cracking at the seams, did not notice how she destroyed one of the pancakes.

Summary

I summarize. First of all, I want to express my condolences to the kitchen staff who is responsible for preparing the potatoes for the “Baravykas” steak.

I don’t even doubt that, my dear, you’ll eat them so much in the coming weeks that Baravyko’s steak will start playing for you at night.

Because many of my followers who will read this review will want to taste this forest tale.
