It is probably the dream and ambition of every athlete to compete in the Olympic Games. The documentary “Dare to Dream” is the story of athletes who have fled war in Iran, Syria, South Sudan and Cameroon and pursue their Olympic dream. This new film produced by Angelina Jolie is already available to viewers on the discovery+ platform.

Athletes fleeing war not only actively train, but also fight for opportunities and safety in their host countries around the world. The film reveals the personal stories of the athletes, their lives and hopes to participate and compete with the world’s best at the Summer Olympics.

The documentary “Drąsa svajoti” can already be seen on the “discovery+” platform, available in Lithuania on Go3 TV, MEGOGO and Telia Play.

Hope and dream are the biggest driving force

Produced by actress Angelina Jolie and singer John Legend, this documentary follows the stories of people training to compete on the world stage and fighting for a spot at the Tokyo Olympics. It tells about dramatic challenges, shows the hopes and passion of young people, forced to leave their families, homes and homelands in order to rebuild their lives.

The film tells the story of how determined young athletes fight for their place in the world after the Olympic Games, the athletes’ families at home and in community refugee camps. This is a story about their dreams, when they have to face difficulties at every step, and most importantly, about the hope of living a better life.

The film is directed by Oscar nominee Waad al-Kateab, executive produced by Angelina Jolie and John Legend, who created the special soundtrack for the film, Don’t Need to Sleep. Produced by Oscar winner Joanna Netasegra, Emmy Award winner Abigail Anketell-Jones, two-time Oscar nominee Bryn Mooser, Kathryn Everett and Joe Gebbia.
