Alica Schmidt and fellow German athlete Nadine Reetz decided to go to the beach near Cape Town after training in South Africa.

An Instagram video shows the athletes running through the water together.

However, the German women were not alone on the beach.

Soon they both jumped out of the water screaming. They saw an unexpected thief.

It’s a monkey grabbing the athletes’ stuff.

The first question A. Schmidt asked was about the phone. The German 400 m runner is very popular in her homeland, the phone is also a work tool for her, so the concern arose primarily like this.

But the baboon was more interested in the snacks.

In another post, the animal could be seen sitting contentedly on a rock, happily munching on chips one after another.

He did not take care of the car keys and other valuable belongings of the athletes.

Therefore, the whole adventure was accepted by the Germans with laughter.

They can continue to prepare for the season, during which A. Schmidt has ambitions to perform successfully at the European Championship in Rome in June and qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris.
