After Sunday’s game, Man City are third in the table with 64 points, one more than Arsenal, while leaders Liverpool have 67.

The teams have nine games left to play before the end of the Premier League.

Man City coach P. Guardiola, who is hunting for the fourth title in a row, says that everything is now in the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

“Those who are first are also favorites. Arsenal second, we third.

“It’s out of our hands – all we can do is think about the next game against Aston Villa,” Guardiola said.

Man City dominated most of the game against Arsenal but managed just one shot on target. It was the first clash at the Etihad Stadium in which the hosts had not conceded a goal since October 2021.

And what was the way to overcome Arsenal’s low-lying defensive block? P. Guardiola joked when he received such a question.

“Killing someone, playing against nine. They defended a lot and well, surrounded Erling Haaland. They defended a lot and used a lot of people to do it. Their goal was not to miss and they succeeded. We didn’t have many chances”, commented Mr. Guardiola.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was proud of his side who managed to keep two clean sheets against Man City this season.

“Yes, you want to win, you are ready to win, but if it doesn’t work, then you have to take at least a draw,” said the Spaniard. – We managed it. Eleven months ago we were in this season and it was a different story (Man City won 4-1 then – op. cit.). We had to take steps forward and we succeeded today”, explained M. Arteta.

The two amicably parted teams are still fighting in the Champions League. Arsenal will face Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, while Man City will face Real Madrid.
