Kretinga, Klaipėdos st. The roof of the hangar of the forest and wood processing company “Imedeksa” was on fire. Firefighters with breathing apparatus worked at the fire site, and a headquarters was established. He coordinated the rescue efforts. The fire was extinguished by 8 tankers, a lift was needed.
The fire broke out in a one-story, 10-meter-high brick woodworking building. The production building is attached to a three-story administrative building.
In the production building, various woodworking equipment and wood blanks were burnt. The roof covering and metal structures with an area of 700 m² collapsed. In the administrative building, the first and second floors were heavily smoked, the attic floor and the roof of the building were burnt.
Two production buildings, located 7 m from the fire site, were saved.
10 p.m. 43 min. the fire was reported to have been extinguished.
The mayor of Kretinga, Antanas Kalnius, announces on his Facebook account:
Firefighters are still on duty this morning in the territory of UAB “Imedeksa” and small fires that are still regenerating are being extinguished. There are no victims.
Yesterday, a total of over 30 firefighters from Kretinga, Klaipėda, Kartena, Darbėnai, Baublia, Palanga, Gargžda worked at the fire station.
