The conference is organized by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania together with business law law firm “TGS Baltic” and other partners, the event is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Lithuania.
Vilius Bernatonis, partner of “TGS Baltic” and moderator of the conference, says that in the face of war, it is necessary to take into account two aspects – economic stability and the ability to resist and win.
“Some experts believe that priority should now be given to the immediate needs of war. However, it is already necessary to think about the reconstruction of Ukraine, because it will take time to create financing mechanisms and involve business in it.
Winning a war requires financial resources and a strong economy. The country’s reconstruction projects and business involvement play an important role in facilitating economic activity, strengthening Ukraine’s foundations and ultimately contributing to the nation’s ability to win,” says V. Bernatonis.
The first part of the European Banking and Finance Conference will present various project financing options and explore mechanisms, strategies and cooperation models that will allow companies to actively participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction projects.
The second part will focus on the practical aspects of business involvement in Ukraine’s future, with speakers discussing Ukraine’s specific needs and presenting examples of successful business engagement.
European Commission member Virginijus Sinkevičius, Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Ukrainian Group Sven Röben, Finance Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Gintarė Skaistė, Ukrainian Ambassador to Lithuania Petro Bešta and other experts will participate in the conference.
