Proposes to recognize the Utena Industrial Park as an important project for the state, which would attract 53 million. EUR investments

The Ministry prepared draft resolutions that would recognize the park as a project of national importance, along with defining a non-contiguous area of ​​almost 20.5 hectares in the southeastern part of the city.

According to the ministry, there is currently no special territory for the development of production and services in the Utena region.

“After preparing the relevant territory, it would be possible to attract local and foreign investors, promote the creation and development of industrial enterprises in the Utena region, and companies in the manufacturing and service sectors of advanced technologies could be established here,” the ministry says.

It indicates that by 2039, at least 53.2 million people would be attracted to the Utena Industrial Park in three stages. EUR of private investment, and it would create at least 310 new jobs.

According to the project, during the first stage – until 2029 – 18.7 million people should be attracted to the park. EUR and created at least 110 new jobs, during the second period – until 2034 – respectively 32.5 million. EUR and 190 jobs.

According to the ministry, by 2039 the state budget would receive an additional 16.3 million. EUR personal income tax (PIT) and 17.3 million. State social insurance contributions of EUR.

It is estimated that the development of the necessary infrastructure for the park would cost 5.5 million. EUR, of which 2.2 million EUR 1.5 million would be covered by the state. EUR – the municipality, and 1.8 million Eur – European Union (EU) support.

Plans to establish the Utena Industrial Park were announced back in 2018. At that time, the Utena council also approved the initiative of its establishment.
