The “Volkswagen Passat B9” line has been expanded – a sedan has joined the station wagon. It was presented at the Beijing Auto Show.
In China, the Volkswagen Passat sedan will be called the Magotan. True, the American “VW Passat” is also sold there, so another name was invented for the model of the European platform. In other countries, it may also be sold under the Passat name.
Like the Volkswagen Passat B9 station wagon, the four-door version has profiled sides, but the design of the front part is more aggressive and ribbed. Also, the sedan is slightly larger.
Volkswagen Passat / Magotan 2024 dimensions:
- length – 4990 mm;
- width – 1854 mm;
- height – 1487 mm;
- wheelbase – 2871 mm.
The interior of the VW Magotan has hardly changed compared to the Passat station wagon. It is equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen, but the sedan can be equipped with a third screen for the passenger.
Among the optional features of the Volkswagen Magotan are windshield projection, surround-view cameras, ventilation and front seat massage. Trunk volume – 520 liters.
The Volkswagen Passat B9 sedan debuted with 1.5-liter (160-hp) and 2.0-liter (220-hp) gasoline turbo-fours, and a plug-in hybrid may be added later. All versions are equipped with a 7-speed DSG robot.
