The company “Xiaomi” received 88,898 applications to purchase the electric car SU7 in a record short time – 24 hours after the start of pre-orders.
In order to purchase the SU7, potential buyers had to pay a deposit of US$850. Due to the high volume of orders, new customers will have to wait at least a year for their car.
The production capacity of the Xiaomi factory in Beijing is about 150 thousand. cars per year, but it is planned to expand them to 300 thousand. units. Given that the production process is only gaining momentum, experts predict that around 100,000 electric cars will be produced within eight months.
The success of Xiaomi SU7 in China was due to the high brand confidence and competent marketing carried out by the company’s CEO Lei Jun. The presentation of the new car impressed the audience with its quality and style.
An attractive price-quality ratio contributed to the model’s popularity. Waiting for a car for more than a year is not a big problem for many buyers, as shown by the example of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, whose waiting queue lasted four years.
