Eike Immel, a famous German football player in the past, lives in poverty. During his career, the 63-year-old celebrity earned several million, but managed to waste all the money.

Now the former goalkeeper of the German national team, Man City, Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund hides in social housing in his homeland and often does not have even two euros in his account.

After ending his professional career in 1997, E. Immelis was forced to declare personal bankruptcy already 11 years later. Then his wife and children immediately left him.

“I haven’t had any financial problems in the past. Sometimes I paid 10 thousand. mobile phone bills amounting to 1 million euros, for more than 1 million I bought a house for 100,000 euros, but later the tax inspectorate knocked on my door and informed me that I owed more than 900,000 euros. unpaid debts of EUR.

It sounds incredible to ordinary people, but I never thought about my future.

Now I live on an allowance of 1,100 euros, half of which I pay for rent, and I still have a month to manage with the remaining amount. This is a real challenge, sometimes I only have 2 euros left in my account”, said E. Immelis.

“People have given me furniture and a friend who owns a local restaurant sometimes lets me eat for nothing. I’m grateful for the help, but I didn’t want it to end this way.”
