Ipswich Town had a fantastic campaign. The club, which rose from League One to the Championship last year, was among the two strongest in the second strongest English division this year.

After a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield on the final day of the season, Kieran McKenna’s men secured second place and a ticket to the English Premier League.

Ipswich Town will return to the Premier League after a 22-year absence.

Leeds United failed to beat Southampton on the final day. These clubs will face the playoffs for one last ticket to the top division. They will be joined in the battle by Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion.

A little earlier, the title and place in the Premier League was secured by Leicester City. True, they failed to reach the symbolic limit of 100 points on the last day. They were beaten by Blackburn Rovers, who secured Championship survival. “Birmingham City” team was relegated to the lower division.
