After it became clear that Adrian Newey will officially leave Red Bull, rumors have intensified again that Max Verstappen, who has recently been most associated with Mercedes, will not shine in the ranks of the champions.
It was announced that the leader of the championship will even sit down at the negotiating table with representatives of the “silver arrows” after the Miami GP, and the amount that Mercedes would be willing to pay the Dutchman every year was also named. Finally, information about the meeting was denied by Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, but Verstappen’s future still remains uncertain.
Now the former F-1 athlete Ralf Schumacher spoke on this topic. The German is convinced that Verstappen wants to leave.
“I think he has a lot of opportunities to move elsewhere. There have been numerous reports in the F1 environment that he is in talks with other teams. The question is when exactly it will happen, whether it will be next year or even later, but I have no doubt that Max wants to leave,” said R. Schumacher.
We remind you that Mr. Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull is valid until 2028, but as it became clear a few months ago, the athlete has the possibility to leave the team early.
