The Queen’s consort’s son, Tom Parker-Bowles, was married once, but in 2018, after 12 years of marriage, the man decided to move out of his home in Shepherd’s Bush, where he lived with his wife Sarah and two children.

Shortly after the marriage, the troubled T. Parker-Bowles found happiness in love again and started dating journalist Alice Procope, a mother of three children.

They spent a year together, when the couple was shocked by the painful news – at the age of 42, A. Procope was diagnosed with lung cancer. Seven months later, in March 2021, the woman died at her home.

“Alice’s death devastated Tom,” his friends told the press at the time.

The queen consort’s son’s lover fell ill just as the coronavirus was raging around the world. Her friends and relatives testified that the journalist did not receive help in time due to the burned-out health care system at the time.

“Due to the coronavirus, Alice only found out about her cancer diagnosis in August, when it was too late,” one of her friends told the Daily Mail.

During the coronavirus pandemic, cancer patients went to the doctor less frequently

Data analyzed by Cancer Research UK shows that lung cancer referrals fell by 34% between March and January 2021.

Overall, the number of emergency GP visits for suspected lung cancer patients fell to 20,300 compared to the same period last year.

Ms McGovern, a former BBC morning presenter, said at the time: “I was quite shocked by the death of Alice Procope. We worked together as journalists for a while. She was so funny. I grieve with her family. 42 is not the age to leave”.
