At the same time last year, diesel cost an average of 1.77 EUR/l in our country, so it has become cheaper by an average of 0.47 EUR/l over the year. Fuel in Lithuania continues to be the cheapest in the Baltic countries.
In Lithuanian gas stations, the average price of diesel has been decreasing for 11 weeks in a row, and for gasoline – for 5 weeks in a row.
The latest data from analysts of the Lithuanian Energy Agency show that on May 15-22 in our country, the average price of diesel fell to 1.30 EUR/l (previous week it was 1.31 EUR/l).
For comparison, the average price of diesel in neighboring Poland is 1.35 EUR/l and is still higher than in Lithuania, while the average price in Germany is 1.59 EUR/l.
Last week, average diesel prices decreased in Lithuania, Poland and Estonia (0.1-1.0%), and increased in Latvia and Germany (0.7 and 0.6%, respectively).
Average gasoline prices during the week also decreased in Lithuania, Poland and Estonia (0.1-0.3 percent), but increased further in Latvia and Germany (0.4 and 0.8 percent, respectively).
The average price of gasoline in our country is now 1.48 EUR/l and is 0.38 EUR/l lower than a year ago, when gasoline cost 1.86 EUR/l.
Currently, the average fuel prices in all the compared Baltic Sea region countries are 9.3-26.5 percent, or 0.15-0.47 EUR/l, lower than they were exactly a year ago.
Wholesale gasoline price May 1-22. increased by 0.018 Eur/l, diesel decreased by 0.003 Eur/l. Brent crude averaged $75.8/bbl for the week, up 0.4 percent. less than the previous week.
The average price of Urals oil was 56.6 USD/bbl last week, which is 1.0 percent. less than the previous week’s average price.
