On the occasion of Vilnius’ birthday, travel by public transport on January 25. will be free. For the convenience of the people of Vilnius, during the holiday, from 18:00 to 21:30, buses of express routes 1G, 4G and 6G will run more often, as well as buses of routes 10, 22, 33, 43, 52 and 53 and trolleybuses of routes 2, 3, 4 and 17. At this time, 4G route buses will additionally stop at the Rinktinė stop in both directions.
Bus routes will be temporarily changed
Due to traffic restrictions at the approaches to the Cathedral, the routes and schedules of bus routes 10, 11, 33, 89 will also change.
Changes in bus routes:
Route 10 buses to Markučius will go from the Green Bridge along Vilnius, Jogaila, Pylimo, Bazilijonų, M. Daukša, Žiupronių, Subačiaus streets, then the usual route. Driving along the changed route, buses will stop at the stops Karaliaus Mindaugas tiltas, Arkikatedra, Bernardinų sodas, Dailė akademijas and Užupios. The return buses will follow the same route. When traveling along the changed route, route 10 buses will additionally stop at the stops Vincos Kudirkas Square, Jogailas, Center Polyclinic, Reformatu, MO Museum, Vingriai, Rūdninkai, Basilijonai, Aušra vartai and Missionieriau.
Route 11 buses from Žvērynas to the intersection of Pamėnkalnis–Pylimo–Jogaila streets will follow the usual route, then turn to Pylimo street and drive along Bazilijonų, M. Daukša, Žiupronių, Subačiaus, Maironio streets. From this street, you will turn to Užupis street and follow the usual route. Driving along the changed route, buses will stop at the following stops: Jogailas, Vincos Kudirkas Square, Karalias Mindaugas Bridge, Arch Cathedral, Bernardina Garden and the Academy of Arts. While traveling on the changed route, buses will additionally stop at the Center Polyclinic, Reformatiu, MO Museum, Vingriai, Rūdninkai, Bazilijonai, Aušras vartai and Misionierai stops.
The buses will return on the usual route.
Route 33 buses from North Town to Karalias Mindaugas Bridge will run on the usual route, then turn to T. Kosciuška Street and drive along Olandų and Drujas Streets, and return to the usual route after turning onto Sukilėlių Street. The buses will return to North Campus on the same route. After changing the route, buses will stop at the Arkikatedra, Bernardinų sodas, Dailės akademija, Užupios and Subačiaus stops. Traveling along this route, the buses will additionally stop at Karalias Mindaugas bridge (toward Kalnai Park), Kalnai Park, St. Peter and Paul Church, at the Vasara, Krivii, Filareti, Polotsk and Druja stops.
Route 89 buses, traveling in the direction of the Old Town, will run on the usual route until the Karalias Mindaugas bridge, then turn to T. Kosciuška Street and drive along Olandų and Drujas Streets, and return to the usual route after turning onto Sukilėlių Street. Buses on the changed route will not stop at the Arch Cathedral, Bernardinų Garden, Academy of Fine Arts, Užupis and Subačius stops. Additionally, there will be stops at Karalias Mindaugas bridge (toward Kalnai park), Kalnai park, St. Church of Peter and Paul, Vasara, Krivii, Filareti, Polotsk and Druja.
Please note that the route of bus route 89, due to traffic restrictions between the Town Hall and Town Hall Square, will be additionally changed during the Vilnius Light Festival (January 25-28, 18:00 to 23:00) – Rūdninku st. a temporary City Hall stop will be installed, where route 89 buses will stop, going in the direction of the Station.
