That there may be illegal hunting, before 9 p.m. a hunter from a local hunting club informed the authorities.
The environmentalists immediately went to the indicated place and, finding ammunition in one person’s farm buildings, contacted the police officers.
“It is very important that society helps environmentalists. Saying that we can do more together is certainly not empty words. So we sincerely thank the hunter who called us and reported the possible violation”, said Jonas Jarmalavičius, head of Alytus GGAI.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into the illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, explosives or explosive materials.
