“According to initial data, there were 179 passengers and 6 crew members on the aircraft, the crew of the aircraft informed the airport authorities that no one was injured and the aircraft taxied to the parking lot on the platform, where the passengers were disembarked. The circumstances and causes of the incident are being investigated,” airport representatives wrote on Facebook.
The airport is said to be closed to all flights until 17:40 as inspections are currently underway to assess the impact of the incident on the runway equipment.
A little later, the airport updated the information and announced that the runway of the Vilnius airport was opened for business from 17:00 after the incident. and flights will continue as normal.
As announced, the return flights are directed to Kaunas and Palanga airports.
