A man who stalked, secretly photographed and otherwise harassed his ex-lover came under the law enforcement’s sights

The Klaipėda district prosecutor’s office appealed to the court, requesting that a 33-year-old man be found guilty of stalking his ex-spouse.

As indicated in the announcement distributed on Thursday, the process is requested to be completed with a criminal order, with the Klaipėda resident also found guilty of illegal intrusion, collecting information about a person’s private life and threatening to kill.

He is asked to be sentenced to one year and four months of imprisonment with three months of intensive supervision – control of the convicted person’s location according to a set time by means of electronic monitoring, determining that he must be at home between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and obligate him to participate in a behavior correction program.

The court is also asked to satisfy the victim’s civil claim for damages.

According to the prosecutor’s office, after an unsuccessful relationship, the 33-year-old resident of the port city began to take revenge on his former lover.

According to available data, the man had secretly taken the keys to the woman’s house and broke in several times without her knowledge. Having illegally entered the victim’s apartment, the man from Klaipėda took personal photos, videos, non-public electronic login data from her mobile phone, and threatened to distribute the data to others.

It was also established that the avenger had also taken the car keys belonging to her from the woman’s apartment, intending to make a copy of them.

According to the collected data, the man, in order to know the exact location of his ex-girlfriend, had attached a tracking device to the bottom of her car.

The woman was chased by car, secretly photographed. According to the file, she received dozens of calls and messages a day from her ex-partner, and she was threatened with violence.

The intimidated woman turned to the police because of the man’s actions.
