On Thursday evening, a man who was drunk and did not have a driving license caused an accident in the Prienai district, during which 7 people were injured, including 7 and 15-year-old passengers traveling in another car.
As reported by the Police Department, the traffic accident happened on Thursday evening, around 10 pm. 30 minutes, on the 105th kilometer of the Vilnius-Prienai-Marijampole road.
The Audi A4 car, driven by a 63-year-old man who was drunk (1.56 percent) and did not have the right to drive, went into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with a Kia Sportage car, driven by a 38-year-old woman.
During the traffic accident, both drivers and passengers traveling in both cars were injured.
Two passengers of the Audi A4 were injured: a 52-year-old man and a 40-year-old man.
Three passengers in the Kia Sportage were injured: a 61-year-old woman and 9- and 15-year-old children.
They were brought to the Kaunas hospital due to various injuries.
The Kaunas Fire Rescue Board announces that no one was trapped when the Audi A 4 and Kia Sportage collided.
The rescuers disconnected the batteries of the vehicles and helped the medics to get the 3 conscious injured people out of the cars and transport them to the ambulances.
2 men – a driver and a passenger – were taken out of the Audi A4 car, and a woman was taken out of the Kia Sportage car.
When the cars were towed, spilled operating fluids were cleaned up from the roadway in an area of 2 m².
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the accident.
