How much does real estate cost in Spain – Delfi housing

NT buys for several reasons

According to Aušra Burnienė, a real estate broker in Spain interviewed on the “Delfi diena” show, she used to go to Spain only in the cold season and stayed there for almost half a year. However, two years ago the interviewee decided to move to the mentioned country permanently.

The real estate broker notices that currently there are almost no places in Alicante where people do not speak Lithuanian, the same situation in Tenerife. According to the interviewer, Lithuanians flocked to Spain before, but at that time the concentration of compatriots in the mentioned country was not so high.

Commenting on the desire of Lithuanians to purchase real estate in Spain, A. Burnienė names several reasons for this.

“We chose Spain for the climate and quality of life. The quality of life here is really good – there is less stress, you enjoy life more, that balance is better maintained,” the interviewee shares her personal experience.

She continues that Lithuanians buy real estate in Spain also due to geopolitical circumstances, or more precisely, the war in Ukraine, which forced compatriots to diversify their investments more.

“Lithuanians tend to buy real estate both in Lithuania and abroad. It just seemed that it was very difficult to do before, and now, when there are a number of real estate brokers in foreign countries who help, the availability of real estate has become more accessible,” comments the real estate broker.

Finally, the interviewer names another reason why Lithuanians are rapidly buying houses in Spain. It seems that this is due to the leveling of prices in Lithuania and Spain. According to A. Burnienė, real estate prices in some parts of the Spanish coast are even lower than in Lithuania.

Housing in Spain – and for 80 thousand. euros

Next, the interviewer comments on real estate prices in Spain. True, the specialist drew attention to the fact that it would be difficult to derive the average of real estate prices – as in different cities of Lithuania, prices in Spain can differ significantly.

However, says the interlocutor, the Spanish coast is really big and there are certainly such towns in the country where housing is completely inexpensive. According to A. Burnienė, everything depends on the purpose for which the home is purchased.

“If you want to invest, you should start looking for real estate from 150-200 thousand. euros and above, so that the investment is liquid and profitable. If you just want to buy a house by the sea, you can find it for 80-100 thousand. euros”, – the real estate broker describes the prices in Spain.

True, the interviewer emphasizes that cities in Spain differ not only in terms of real estate prices, but also in terms of permits for foreigners to settle there. For example, says the specialist, there are regions in the mentioned country that really don’t want to let foreigners in and put all kinds of obstacles in the way of real estate acquisition.

“There are cities that have certain restrictions, there are even some harbors where you cannot moor your yacht if you are not Spanish,” the interviewer notes.

On the other hand, she says, there are regions like Alicante, where even 80 percent the population consists of foreigners, so it is not difficult to acquire real estate in such regions.
