Mother’s Day is officially celebrated in Lithuania on the first Sunday of May since 1928. The tradition of honoring the mother lives on in other countries of the world, although the date of the celebration is somewhat different in different countries. In many European countries, Mother’s Day is celebrated in the spring and is associated with the rebirth of nature.
This year, it’s also fun that during Mother’s Day, Lithuania is blessed with sunshine – thermometers reach 20 degrees Celsius.
Social networks were filled with the most beautiful wishes and thanks: everyone pampers their mothers with attention.
During Mother’s Day, famous people had fun with their mothers: they went for a walk together, sat at the festive lunch table on the terraces. Famous people also received congratulations from their children: they were happy with their cards or flowers on Facebook.
But there were also painful records. This day is not fun for everyone. Nijolė Jagelavičienė shared a photo with her deceased daughter Agne Jagelavičiūta and was happy that she was warmed by precious memories.
