“Dear people of Lithuania, on this day twenty years ago, our family finally reunited in a common home. Lithuania has always been and is in the heart of Europe. But the Iron Curtain separated us. Then, with the Baltic Way and Sąjūdis, you won back your freedom. And twenty years ago you chose Europe. Since then, you see your country changing for the better. And when you became a member state, the European Union became better. You constantly remind us all to pay attention to the core values of our Union. For the values of freedom and democracy. And to defend these values both in our country and abroad. You fight against disinformation and interference by foreign powers. You welcomed the Ukrainians with open hearts and sent defense equipment to Kyiv, collecting generous donations and organizing crowdfunding. You are an inspiring example for all Europeans. Lithuania strengthened Europe. And Europe strengthened Lithuania. Energy connections, investments in clean technologies, the biotechnology sector show that we are stronger together. So, happy anniversary! And long live Europe!”.
