The Lithuanian national team, coached by the Canadian Ron Pasco, was not much behind its opponents in attack, but they were more accurate and gradually increased their difference every quarter.

In this match, the Lithuanian national team also lost to the Lithuanians in terms of shots on goal – 18 (6, 6, 6) against 25 (12, 7, 6).

Eimantas Noreika, a 21-year-old from Klaipėda, scored the consolation goal at the end of the match for the Lithuanian national team, successfully using the numerical advantage he had.

At the beginning of the half, the home team again played more actively, but the result did not change.

9 minutes before the end of the match, Tadas Kumeliauskas found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper in the attack, but he also failed to score.

Third goal: Andri Denyskinas makes a very powerful shot with one touch and here M. Armalis was helpless – 3:0.

Later, the difference was reduced by E. Noreika, and Olexander Peresunko secured Ukraine’s victory 4:1.

The second half

Although the Lithuanians started the second half quite confidently and had several moments in the attack, our team was again slowed down by a foul – Kostas Gusevas became the fourth player in this meeting who received 2 penalty minutes for the Lithuanian national team.

In the sixth minute of the second half, Lithuania received its fourth elimination. Striker K. Gusev received the penalty. After returning from the penalty, he tried to rehabilitate and made a beautiful shot that flew over the opponent’s goal and the result remained unchanged.

The Ukrainians once again proved their superiority in the middle of the second half. D. Trachts, who scored the fifth goal in the championship, sent the puck into the goal with one touch. This goal of the Ukrainian forward made it possible to overtake Robert Roob, the top scorer of the championship.

The first half

At the beginning of the match, the Lithuanians gave the initiative to the Ukrainians, and the goalkeeper Martynas Armalis, who has been playing well so far, had to protect the goal more than once.

In the ninth minute of the match, the Lithuanians were in the minority for the second time due to a stick raised too high, and a minute later the Ukrainians managed to open the scoring account, when Danilas Tracht sent the puck into the near upper corner of the goal 0:1.

After conceding a goal, R. Pasco’s pupils continued to play rough. Aivaras Bendžius knocked down his opponent with a stick and for the third time in the match the Lithuanians remained in the minority.

At the end of the first half, the Lithuanians were completely covering the opponent’s goal, and A. Bendžius, who returned to the field after the penalty, made a beautiful shot. However, the Ukrainian goalkeeper saved both of our shots.

60 seconds before the end of the first half, the Lithuanians continued to press the opponents, and Marijus Dumčius, who received the puck, made a return, but inaccurate shot towards the goal.
