US filmmakers discovered Germany in Vilnius – the drama TV series “Truth and Conviction” is filmed in the capital. One of Norway’s largest film production companies, Maipo Film, continues filming in Vilnius, and together with an international team, director Gabriela Urbonaitė’s full-length film is being developed.

The American TV series will take you to 1941

The US company “Kaleidoscope Pictures” is returning to Lithuania for the third time, the director of the TV series “Truth and Conviction” also visited the country before. After visiting Vilnius 8 years ago, he was fascinated by the old town of Vilnius. That is why, when the search for locations for a new project began, St. Kazimiero street and Pasaž cross street.

The action of the upcoming series will take place in Hamburg, Germany in 1941. A young member of the Hitler Youth secretly listens to banned BBC radio broadcasts denouncing the Nazi war machine. Inspired by these shows, Helmut Huebener is convinced that Hitler is not the savior of the nation, but on the contrary, a deceiver and a seducer. When his friend, the Jew Solomon, is sent to a concentration camp, Helmut finally decides to act.

Film production services in Lithuania are provided by the film production company Baltijos filmų paslaugos UAB.

The Norwegian film production company “Maipo Film” continues filming in cooperation with the Lithuanian production company “Artbox”. The filming team consists of 159 professionals, including 104 Lithuanians.

“The world-class Lithuanian filming team, talented actors and the variety of locations available to filmmakers are some of the main factors determining that we continue our cooperation with Maipo Film for several years and they keep coming back to our country,” said the film’s producer. Gabrielė Urbonaitė’s directorial debut

G. Urbonaitė’s film “Renovation” will also be filmed in Vilnius in May. This is the first feature film directed by the creator. Gabrielė Urbonaitė is a screenwriter, film director and editor who graduated from the USA, but continues her creative career in the Lithuanian film industry.

The Vilnius Film Office informs about filming works in the city and short-term traffic restrictions:

  • From April 29 4 p.m. until May 2 9 p.m. and from May 5 4 p.m. until May 7 1 hour 14 parking spaces on Bazilijonų Street will be reserved for filming purposes; from April 29 4 p.m. until May 2 9 p.m. – 16 spaces in the parking lot at the intersection of Mėsinių and Ligoninė streets and 7 spaces near the building on Mėsinių st. 5; from May 5 4 p.m. until May 7 1 hour 16 parking spaces will be reserved in the parking lot at the intersection of Mėsinių and Ligoninė Streets and 7 spaces near the building on Mėsinių St. 5, by moving disabled parking spaces from Mėsiniai street to Ligoninė street;
  • May 3 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. filming will take place on Vasari 16th Street. During filming, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. vehicular traffic will be prohibited and pedestrian traffic will be restricted for a short time (up to 2 minutes) in the part of Vasaris 16-osji street from Gediminas avenue to Pamėnkalnis street. From May 2 4 p.m. until May 3 1 p.m. 13 parking spaces on Pamėnkalnis street will be reserved for filming purposes;
  • May 3 12-2.30 p.m. filming will take place in accordance with road traffic rules on a bus driving through Tauro, Mindaugas, Kaunas and Švitrigailas streets. From May 2 4 p.m. until May 3 2:30 p.m. 5 parking spaces will be reserved on K. Kalinauska street, from May 2. 4 p.m. until May 3 4 p.m. – 23 places on Mindaugas Street;
  • May 3 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. filming will take place in the Bernardin garden, pedestrian traffic will be prohibited in the filming area, and pedestrian traffic will be restricted for a short time (up to 3 minutes) in the territory of the Kalnai Park by the Vilnius River during the filming. May 2 from 4 p.m. 4 benches in the Bernardin garden will be dismantled for filming purposes;
  • From May 3 at 7 p.m. until May 4 1 hour the filming will take place on Šiltadaržios Street with vehicle traffic prohibited and pedestrian traffic restricted for a short time (up to 3 minutes). During filming, the street lights will be turned off and the surrounding graffiti will be painted over. From May 3 6 o’clock until May 4 1 hour 7 parking spaces on Barboras Radvilaitė Street and 13 parking spaces on Bernardinų Street will be reserved for filming purposes;
  • From May 5 until June 3 filming will take place next to the building, Rinktinė st. 45. For filming purposes from May 7. 8 o’clock until June 3 11 p.m. 12 parking spaces near the mentioned building will be reserved and fenced;
  • May 6 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the filming will take place on Šiltadaržios Street with vehicle traffic prohibited and pedestrian traffic restricted for a short time (up to 3 minutes). From May 5 at 5 p.m. until May 6 4 p.m. 7 parking spaces will be reserved on Barboras Radvilaitė Street and 13 parking spaces on Bernardinų Street;
  • May 13 12-3 p.m. filming will take place next to the building on Užupio st. 3 for a short time (up to 3 minutes) limiting the traffic of vehicles (except for public transport) and pedestrians in the part of Užupios Street from Maironis to Paupios Street. From May 12 at 3 p.m. until May 13 4 p.m. 14 parking spaces will be reserved on Užupio street;
  • May 14 10 o’clock preparatory work will take place, and from May 14 10 p.m. until May 15 2 hours filming near the building on Bokšto st. , prohibiting vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Latak and Bokšto streets for a short time (up to 3 minutes). Street lights will be turned off during filming, and from May 14. 6 o’clock until May 15 2 hours 16 parking spaces are reserved on Dižijai and Pilies streets and 4 spaces on Latako street;
  • From May 15 9 p.m. until May 16 3 o’clock filming will take place on Bernardinų street for a short time (up to 3 minutes) with vehicle and pedestrian traffic prohibited. Street lights will be turned off during filming; and from May 15 6 o’clock until May 16 10 o’clock 13 parking spaces are reserved on Bernardinų Street;
  • From May 16 8 o’clock until May 17 3 o’clock filming will take place in Passaža cross street, reserving 12 parking spaces, and from May 16. 6 p.m. until May 17 3 o’clock filmed while prohibiting vehicular traffic. From May 16 at 7 p.m. until May 17 3 o’clock during filming, vehicle (except public transport) and pedestrian traffic will be restricted for a short time (up to 3 minutes) on Arklių and Aušros Vartų streets. Street lights will be turned off during filming, and from May 16 6 o’clock until May 17 3 o’clock 5 parking spaces are reserved on the Great Street.
