The king could end the royal family’s rift, as one expert says he has “left the door open” for Prince Harry and Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex since 2020 stepped down from royal duties, made a series of accusations against the family, only fueling the feud.
Sent a clear message
But recently, Prince Harry has been taking small steps to mend his relationship with his father.
Harry flew to visit Charles III after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer, and on May 8. he will return to London again. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes Charles III is open to meeting his son, but warned there is one catch, writes mirror.co.uk.
“The King has always left the door open for Harry, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will always be warmly welcomed. It will take time. However, it is clear that the situation has changed more than expected in recent weeks.
I don’t think it would be very difficult, it depends on how you define reconciliation,” Richard told The Sun newspaper.
The royal expert also believes that Harry will want to see his father just as much as the king wants to see his son. He added:
“We know that security issues relating to Harry and Meghan and their children will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.” I would think it would be strange if they wanted to meet the king and there was some sort of problem.”
Since leaving the royal family, Meghan has rarely returned to the UK. She joined the royal family in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee reign, but will be absent from the Queen’s funeral in 2022. he never returned to the country in September.
Harry has previously spoken of his desire to reconcile with his family and admitted he felt grateful for the chance to visit King Charles III when he was diagnosed with cancer.
He told Good Morning America: “I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go to him and spend any amount of time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
