It is not surprising that Daniel Radcliffe, who played the main hero of the films – Harry Potter, is at the top of this list. He was chosen for the fateful role by film director Chris Columbus, who noticed Radcliffe’s talent in the BBC production “David Copperfield”. The charm and sincerity of the young actor captivated the director, and later these qualities enchanted millions of moviegoers around the world.

Emma Watson (Hermione Pesky)

Emma Watson auditioned for the role of Hermione Granger when she was just nine years old. Although she had to endure as many as eight test shoots, the author of “Harry Potter” JK Rowling immediately realized that E. Watson was perfect for this role. Astounded by her extraordinary acting skills from an early age, Watson has become a source of inspiration for many with her intelligence, courage and loyalty. As if reflecting her character, the actress is characterized by endless curiosity and an endless desire to learn. She successfully graduated from the prestigious Brown University and is actively involved in social activities.

When Rupert Grint, an avid “Harry Potter” fan, heard about the ongoing auditions for the film, he decided to take part in them without hesitation. True, until then his acting experience was limited to school plays. In order to stand out from the crowd, the guy submitted to the selection committee not only the usual test scene, but also his own hip-hop the piece. This bold move paid off – Mr. Grint won the coveted role of Ron Weasley and became an integral part of the magical world.

Tomas Felton (Drakas Smirdžius)

Tom Felton, who played the role of the arrogant Draco Stinky, initially dreamed of a completely different role – the young actor hoped to get the role of Harry Potter or Ron Weasley. However, T. Felton later admitted that it was Smirdžius that helped him mature as a person.

Although today Matthew Lewis’s name is inseparable from the character of Neville the Wretched, at first he did not even dream of this role. Being a big fan of Harry Potter, the young actor attended an open audition in his hometown. Although he did not expect to get a prominent role, as fate would have it, Lewis was cast as Neville. The director, seeing potential in him, soon cast him in this iconic role.

Devon Murray (Sam Finnigan)

Irish actor Devon Murray became famous for portraying Sam Finnigan in all eight Harry Potter films. Fun fact, he holds the record for breaking a magic wand on set. In May, the actor can also be seen in Lithuania – at the Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung Galaxy S24 event.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)

It is interesting that Bonnie Wright’s brother, who read the first Harry Potter books, immediately saw in his sister Ginny Weasley, a red-haired girl whose fate is intertwined with Harry Potter. Inspired by this parallel, he encouraged his sister to audition despite her lack of acting experience. The brother’s predictions did not disappoint – B. Wright impressed the selection committee and got the coveted role of Ginny.

James and Oliver Phelps (George and Freddie Weasley)

James and Oliver Phelps, who played Harry Potter’s twins, Freddie and George Weasley, did not know which of the twins they would play until the first reading of the film’s script. At the last moment, when they asked the casting director which brother was which, they got an unexpected answer – are you kidding me? After a brief consultation with JK Rowling and other members of the film crew, the director came back with the verdict: James will play Freddy, and Oliver will play George.

Robbie Coltrane (Ruby Hagrid)

Robbie Coltrane brought to life one of the most beloved characters in “Harry Potter” – the gentle half-giant and keeper of the keys to Gryffindor, Rube Hagrid. Today, fans can’t imagine another actor in the role, and the author of the book, JK Rowling, could only agree with this – she invited R. Coltrane to play the role of Hagrid without any audition.

Alan Rickman (Sever Snape)

Severus Snape, embodied by the talented Alan Rickman, accompanied the audience through all parts of the “Harry Potter” saga. Even when faced with serious health problems, he did not abandon his role. Rickman publicly announced that he would continue to portray Professor Severus Snape.

During the decade of making the Harry Potter film series, Somerville not only experienced magical adventures on the screen, but also happy changes in her personal life – she had three children.

Potteryada fans will experience a second Christmas this spring, as even two “Harry Potter” stars are coming to Lithuania – actor Devon Murray, who played the character of Sam Finnigan in all eight Potteryada films, and actress Natalia Tena, who played Nymphadora Tonks.

A little earlier, another actor seen in all parts of the films – Josh Herdman, who portrayed Gregoris Gyls – also visited the event.

It will be possible to see movie stars live on May 25-26 in Vilnius, at “LITEXPO”, the largest popular culture event in the Baltic States “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung Galaxy S24”. During the event, fans will have a unique opportunity to meet the actors live, participate in discussions and hear interesting stories from the set of “Harry Potter” and behind the scenes of other projects.

In addition to the actors of “Harry Potter”, visitors to the event will be able to meet other bright stars. Confirmed guests for the event include Marvel actor Sean Gunn, actress Natasha Halevi, Mountaineer Duncan MacLeod actor Adrian Paul, webcomic stars Natural Habitat Shorts, Nathan W. Pyle, creator of Strange Planet comics, and internet personality Nobody Sausage.
